Another cause of under eye bags is simply the stillness of sleeping. These "rise and shine" morning eyes appear because your circulatory system moves more slowly when you are sleeping, leaving excess fluid beneath the eyes. A less-than-rested body (or a stressed one) can prevent your circulatory system from flushing out this extra fluid even after you have been awake for awhile. "Morning eye bags or puffiness is normal," says Dr. Nakamura, "but eye bags that persist throughout the day can be a sign that your body needs more sleep. Eight hours a night is a good goal."

Lymphatic massage the whole face. This is a huge one–I can’t stress the importance of this enough. Recently I got a Radio Frequency (RF) facial, which vibrates the skin to promote lymphatic drainage and boost collagen, and my facialist said that it reduces under-eye bags as well. Lo and behold, she was right. This doesn’t mean you have to get RF facials every night, but that you can do the self-massage routine at home to mucho effect. Your under-eyes don’t exist by themselves–they’re connected to the rest of your face. To DIY, pump plenty of lotion or cream of your choice (I use Herin Beauty Omega-3 Cream, great for repair) and dot your cheeks, chin, forehead, neck, and decolletage. Use 2-3 fingers of both hands to do circular strokes lifting up and out from the center of your face. Note: You can use firmer strokes as long as you don’t tug the top layer of your skin. Think of it as gently massaging the muscles of your face rather than skimming the surface. You’ll know you did it right if you feel a refreshed, “just-worked-out” sensation all over. 2x a day.

If you’re looking for a more permanent solution for under eye bags caused by ageing, fillers can sometimes be a good option. This long-lasting treatment can keep eyes bag free for up to 12 months. The injections work to improve the appearance of the under-eye area by smoothing the contours of the eye socket to make it appear more youthful. Although a highly efficient and long-lasting treatment, fillers can be quite expensive and occasionally have adverse side effects, so do your research first!

"If dark, puffy [bags under your eyes] seem to be the morning problem, consider sleeping on your back with an extra pillow so that fluid doesn't pool overnight. Keeping your pillow protected from allergens (dust and dust mites) with a protective encasement can also help when allergies are the culprit," says Rebecca Tung, a dermatologist in La Grange Park, Illinois.
For another retinol-free night cream, try Vichy LiftActiv with Rhamnose Night, a moisturizing powerhouse — and the only cream to score decently in the lab for reducing brown spots, minimizing pores, and improving texture. It also increased firmness by an impressive 28% after two months, an effect that didn't go unnoticed by panelists: "After a few weeks, you definitely could see a difference; the fine lines were disappearing and my skin firmed up," said one. Keep in mind that these creams tend to be more moisturizing than their retinol-based counterparts — a good bet if your skin is especially dry.
Vitamin C, a powerful antioxidant, fights free radicals, a byproduct of cell metabolism in your body. Free radicals are thought to attack proteins, fats and DNA -- and break down collagen, leading to lines and wrinkles. Anti-wrinkle eye creams that include vitamin C are top in the anti-aging category because of their ability to minimize lines, while firming and brightening skin. Dermatologist formulated Murad Essential-C Eye Cream SPF 15 is a top anti-wrinkle eye cream, featuring a patented anti-aging formula.

“This serum was created as an alternative to hydroquinone for people suffering from brown spots and fine lines. But it’s safe to use long term because it doesn’t bleach the surrounding skin. It’s also packed with powerful anti-aging ingredients like kojic acid and licorice root extract, which fight free radicals that damage collagen. I just love this product and my friends and patients love it, too! It can be applied once or twice a day, just be sure to use sunscreen with this product,” says Dr. Dina Strachan, M.D., a New York City-based dermatologist.
"All day long our skin is exposed to a constant barrage of sun, free radicals, pollution, and more," says Boston-based dermatologist Emmy Graber, M.D. "The overnight hours are when it finally gets a reprieve." So while you can definitely use antioxidants (along with sunscreen) in the a.m. as added protection from all of these damaging environmental factors, you can also make the most of this bedtime reprieve by using an antioxidant-rich night cream. In this formula, the lotus plant packs a powerful antioxidant punch (also helping to hydrate and improve radiance). The whipped consistency is a nice change from many other night creams, which can often be thick and heavy.
This wrinkle cream contains Coenzyme Q10, or simply CoQ10. This enzyme is found in every cell and tissue in the body helping everything from energy levels to neutralizing free radicals. The neutralizing of free radicals is why it’s used in a wrinkle cream. As we age, the amount of CoQ10 in our bodies decrease – which means fewer free radicals are neutralized and the physical effects show in our skin. The boost this cream provides will also create a stimulant to create elastin and collagen as well.
"I've been using this product since my early 40s. I am now 53 and am told I look like I'm in my 30s. It really is the best retinol serum I've ever used. It is a retinol product, so it may sting a bit at first as your skin gets used to it. If that happens I recommend using once a week at first and then stepping up of the frequency until you're able to use it on a daily basis. I have very sensitive skin and this process worked for me." —T.Long
Here’s another way your fridge can come in handy: Store a few metal spoons inside. When you find yourself with a little free time, perhaps while you’re watching an episode of your favorite TV show, grab two chilled spoons from the fridge and place them on your under-eye bags. The spoons will work in a similar manner to your refrigerated eye cream, helping to de-puff.
Retinoids are one of the most well-documented wrinkle fighters around, reversing the signs of aging in study after study (after study). A class of chemicals derived from vitamin A, retinoids work in two ways: First, they help your skin slough off old cells and make new ones — a process our bodies are good at when young, but which slows down as we age. Second, they spur collagen production, improving elasticity and filling in lines — another natural process that tends to slow down with age.
This is primarily a sunscreen, but we felt the need to include it because of the damage the sun’s harsh rays can do to your skin. Many wrinkles are formed prematurely if your skin is over-exposed to the sun unprotected. This wrinkle repair cream is one that will use its 15 SPF to protect your skin from future damage, and its other ingredients, such as hyaluronic acid and retinol, with begin to repair the damage already done.
I had a coupon from a friend so I was able to order the box for half price. I enjoyed trying the new products. There were makeup items and fingernail items. It had also more items than I expected. I really only expected 3 or 4 items in the box so I was happy to see so many different items. They were full sized items not just sample sized. This surprised me also. I like that you can cancel for just a month or two if you need to and you don't have to stop your subscription. But I disliked that I had no choice in the type of product or in the final selection. Some items were products that I have never used and will never use.
Having been blessed with mixed skin, I have struggled to find the right facial cream for my skin type. In fact, up until recently I all but gave up on finding the right product as one after the other would yield disspoainting results (e.g. cause breakouts or just stay on like a slimy film). My friend recommended this product to me, and I am so glad I gave it a shot. The cream applies super easily and dries so so fast. Skin feels rejuvenated. I apply it before going to bed, and it's my new favorite nightly ritual. Highly recommend you give it a try, I will order again!
"Believe it or not, the best anti-aging steal under $10 is petroleum jelly. Just like any other part of the body, your skin is made up of cells. And skin cells are made up of water. If your skin is not getting the sufficient amount of water, the lack of hydration will present itself by turning your skin dry, tight and flaky. Dry skin has less resilience and is more prone to wrinkling. It also loses its function as a protective barrier to keep moisture in and environmental stressors out — like allergens, dust and bacteria. Skin cells are layered like bricks and dry skin creates gaps in these layers, allowing stressors in. So protecting this barrier is crucial to keeping your skin looking young,” says Dr. Julie Russak, M.D., volunteer facility at Mount Sinai Hospital.
Still no tracking for me. I changed my card cause I don’t even know if I want to deal with February or March. I am curious for April though haha. They say they will BILL us when our box SHIPS and that isn’t the case. I wouldn’t care if that were true but I was charged for 2 boxes before I ever even got the first one. And now will be charged a 3rd before I receive the 2nd (last time it took 14 days to get to me after I got the confirmation email)
Need a morning pick-me-up? Try an eye cream with a cooling applicator for a refreshing wake up call, that can also help with your baggage. Rivera likes the L’Oréal Paris RevitaLift Triple Power™ Eye Treatment, which has a cooling applicator tip and is formulated with caffeine and helps reduce the look of under-eye bags. Use morning and night and gently massage the eye treatment around your eye area until it’s fully absorbed. Your skin may look brighter immediately, and your under-eye bags may look visibly reduced with continued use over time.
Ummm... perhaps it's time you re-educate yourself on the newest medical literature. Nutrition-based science has totally debunked the cholesterol myth. And don't take my word for it, all the biggest names in nutrition agree that eggs are very good for overall human health. This includes Dr David Perlmutter, biohacker Dave Asprey (of Bulletproof fame), writer Michael Pollan, Dr Mark Hyman, Dr Weil, Dr Joseph Mercola... the list is long and exhaustive.

Apparently the Sunday Riley Glow Serum in the January box is a full size. You can preorder that and the retinoid cream on Sunday Riley’s website. It comes in a kit with a glycolic treatment. I’m super excited for all 3 boxes! I’m a little sad that the retinoid cream from Sunday Riley will be wasted on me because I already have a high strength prescription retinoid cream I use every night.
