I’ve always been bothered by my dark under-eye circles. No matter how many hours I sleep a night, they’re always there, and no amount of serum or color corrector can make them go away. Recently I was talking to a bunch of my coworkers, and we all seemed to have some version of the same complaint. We all rolled our tired eyes, remarking on how we’re perpetually sleep-deprived (it’s cool to be too busy to sleep, haven’t you heard?) and on the constant hunt for the best concealer.
Use gentle strokes on the eye area. I like to use light pressure and plenty of serum/cream. Use light, shimmering tapping (imagine doing jazz fingers). Be sure to press the serum into the skin instead of just pushing it around. Finish up by drawing a horizontal figure 8 (or the infinity symbol!) around the boundaries of your eye area–this is good for lymphatic drainage.
"Consider your under-eyes as sensitive skin even if you may not necessarily have sensitive skin. Undereye skin is among the thinnest on the body, so any trauma or irritation can cause skin inflammation," says Joshua Zeichner, the director of cosmetic and clinical research in dermatology at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City. "If you are using a towelette, try one that is fragrance-free, like Neutrogena Fragrance-Free Makeup Remover Cleansing Towelettes, and take gentle strokes in a single direction rather than rubbing back and forth."
I signed up for the first month promotion for $7.50. They charge my card and 1.5 weeks later, they charged my card again for the next month subscription even though I haven't received the first box yet. I emailed them to cancel, they replied me with some promotion "4 boxes for $10", I refused but they ignored my answer. I kept emailing them to cancel but never got an answer from them. The next thing I know is that they already shipped another box. This is outrageous.
Although jade and rose quartz rollers have played a key role in Chinese beauty regimens for centuries, they only recently became a staple in American vanities. Using the smaller stone, gently roll it underneath your eyes in outward motions to promote blood flow and soothe puffy skin. Pro tip: Throw your roller into your refrigerator before each use for the ultimate cooling experience.
Bags under eyes can include mild swelling, saggy or loose skin and/or dark circles. While you may not like the way these bags look, they are usually harmless and do not require medical attention; however, if you experience severe and persistent bags accompanied by redness, itching or pain, you may want to see your doctor. Also, if you notice redness, itching or pain on other parts of your body, such as your legs, you could be having an allergic reaction and need medical attention. Your doctor will want to rule out other possible causes that can contribute to the swelling, such as thyroid disease or an infection.
Find anti-wrinkle creams that provide the supple, smooth skin you desire. While most anti-aging creams are for your entire face, some eye creams are specifically formulated to minimize the fine lines and nourish the skin around the eyes. Try the anti-aging cream formulas that include ingredients to restore elasticity, stimulate collagen production or firm sag-prone areas. There are even anti-aging hair products designed to shield your hair from the effects of the environment. Select the anti-aging product that will help you smooth, soften and hydrate your skin.
The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) classifies creams and lotions as cosmetics, which are defined as having no medical value. So the FDA regulates them less strictly than it does drugs. This means that cosmetic products don't undergo the same rigorous testing for safety and effectiveness that topically applied medications undergo. Regarding this category of creams and lotions, the FDA's main concern is safety, not effectiveness.
Peptides are the star of the show here, namely an amino-peptide complex, that penetrates 10 layers deep to help skin cells. "Peptides act as signaling mechanisms that tell the body to produce more collagen," says Dhaval Bhanusali, M.D., a dermatologist based in New York City. (As a reminder, collagen is the protein responsible for strong, firm, youthful skin, so more collagen equals fewer wrinkles. But this cream doesn't stop there; it also gently exfoliates and hydrates.
At first glance, you may be inclined to think that the NuFACE Collagen Booster Copper Complex has fallen victim to the age-old problem in the beauty industry: artificial dyes. Its blue-ish hue can be surprising at first, but don’t be deceived; this color is a naturally-occurring chemical reaction from the copper inside the formula! This multi-use collagen cream is completely free from artificial dyes and is filled with active ingredients extracts for a more natural approach to the fight against aging.
The best wrinkle cream should be pleasant to put on and wear. You’re committing to a long-term routine, after all. Keeping in mind that everyone’s skin is different, we looked for any glaringly obvious issues in the immediate aftermath of use. Testers found most of the creams delightfully soothing, with textures ranging from the thin serums of The Ordinary to the petroleum jelly consistency of Dermalogica. They typically came with light citrus smells, or no scent at all.
This is primarily a sunscreen, but we felt the need to include it because of the damage the sun’s harsh rays can do to your skin. Many wrinkles are formed prematurely if your skin is over-exposed to the sun unprotected. This wrinkle repair cream is one that will use its 15 SPF to protect your skin from future damage, and its other ingredients, such as hyaluronic acid and retinol, with begin to repair the damage already done.
Luckily for us, 2019 (and the technology it brings) allows us to turn back the clock a bit and live life without a topographical map of wrinkles. Whether you’re trying to stave off that very first wrinkle or treat years of skin damage, adding a good pro-collagen cream into your skincare arsenal is a fantastic way to look as youthful and confident as you feel on the inside!
Designed to be applied at bedtime, the Meaningful Beauty Beyond repairing cream is an excellent complement to your current skincare routine. Whether you’re trying to stave off fine lines in your 20’s or tackling decades-old wrinkles well into your 70’s, incorporating a great night cream like this one into your daily routine is a small favor your skin will surely thank you for later!
Never start microneedling without slathering on some kind of primer first: Not only does that medium make the treatment feel less harsh on your skin, but also, when you use a great treatment, you’re literally pushing those ingredients deep into your skin for maximum absorption—up to 90% more than you would just by using your fingers and leaving it there. I typically use a serum with additional collagen-boosting ingredients like hyaluronic acid. (Just be sure to avoid super-reactive elements like retinol or vitamin C.)
I am a fan of this subsciption box, I am pleasantly surprised by this little box when it arrives. It is a good price for the amount & quality of products. I subtracted a star because it would be perfect if you could set the color scheme of the products. When something arrives in a color I can’t wear, I’m stuck with it. So far one lip color I’ve received is not good on me, but I will give to a friend. Many products are either skin care/hair care/nail care, so color is a non issue & that’s great. Most of the colored items have been good, but, not all. I do love opening the box to see what kind of treasure it holds. I also love the little piece of literature that explains each product. Overall it’s a fun, sweet little treat I’ve given myself & always a high point when I find it waiting in my mailbox.
