I'm living in France and I offered a one year subscription to my sister in law who lives in Las Vegas in December 23, 2017. Allure Box has charged my bank account for the total amount of the subscription and I've received an order confirmation without any order number, since then (we are now mid January) I absolutely have no news about the shipment of any box although it is mentioned on their FAQ "If you are a new subscriber, your box will ship no later than 10 days after sign up". I wrote a complaint to BEAUTYBOX@ALLURE.COM on Jan 2nd and never got any response either. I call it robbery and now I'm about to contact my bank to oppose the payment as an fraud. I'm so unhappy I needed to share this very bad experience.
I never received my December box also… they told me I never paid for it when I called into customer service and talked to one of the customer service reps and gave her my card number. They told.me they were out of the December box. I just got a email about my refund and then one about my January box… I wonder if they are refunding people about the December box or a missing product… hopefully they work everything out soon. I never received my snack nation boxes also…
I love subscription boxes. So after reading all the online “professional” reviews, I went for Allure since Birch is so/so (but has TOP customer service) and FabFitFun only comes 4x a year. I never received my January box, nor did many others, yet they advertised for people to sign up and get it right up until February. I emailed them a polite message and heard nothing back. Finally, I tried to cancel my subscription online, and their website has “error messages” for every time you try to perform that action on your account. You have to call. The person I spoke to today assured me that I would be given a refund in 10 business days to my debit card. If it doesn’t happen, I WILL be going through the bank, since it appears that a number of individuals are not receiving their money. Allure was poorly prepared for this subscription service.
Amazon had some sort of sale so I signed for a few subscriptions to see if anything was worth it. After the first month, the only one I kept was Allure. I'm a serious skincare person and a terrible make-up person but the box had a nice blend of both -- enough make-up for me to play with and some good skincare stuff/brands I hadn't seen. The second month I got an envelope in the mail and it's a single Kat Von D lipliner -- I'm not a fan of her make-up line and thought 'yep, this is it, subscription boxes suck' and canceled. Tonight, I got home and there's a proper box with some great make-up and two different face oils to try (and seriously, no joke, I was googling face oils today). So I signed back up and am now writing this review.
