"I added it to my routine (Cetaphil wash, The Ordinary Glycolic Acid Toner, and Corsx Snail serum, on a weekly basis). This is the third week and I have noticed a huge diminishing in my uneven skin tone and acne scarring. I look younger and my skin glows after. It doesn’t burn like stronger peels and my skin only slightly reddens after." —Alexandra Snyder
After cleansing your face and applying a layer of serum or whatever primer you’re using, it’s time to start dermarolling. Stretch your skin taut, and roll across it diagonally, horizontally, and vertically, pressing as hard as you can tolerate. I focus on my smile lines, lips, and underneath my eyes, as well as any acne scars or discolouration that needs tending to. Try not to roll over one single area more than a couple of times, and never use your roller on existing zits or open wounds. After you’re done rolling, apply another layer of serum to your face, and sterilise your device with rubbing alcohol before storing it in its case.
Never, ever, EVER go to sleep with a full face of makeup on your face! We know it can be frustrating and time-consuming to wash away that killer smoky eye at the end of the evening (especially after a few cocktails), but trust us: your face will thank you in the morning! Not only does makeup prohibit your skin’s natural abilities to breathe and create a breeding ground for bacteria and blemishes, sleeping in those harsh chemicals can cause eye irritation and even infections. Yuck!
Due to the lack of statistically significant clinical trials proving the effectiveness of topical retinoids as “anti-wrinkle” creams, I recommend applying sunscreen daily to reverse signs of photo-aging and to prevent fine lines and wrinkles. I would avoid using “anti-wrinkle” creams until more definitive scientific evidence proves that the benefits outweigh the risks. In the meantime, think of all the thousands of dollars you will save on not having to buy anti-wrinkle creams.
Dr. Engelman likes Elizabeth Arden’s Prevage Anti-Aging Eye Serum ($100), which uses a mix of peptides, antioxidants, and hyaluronic acid to reduce puffiness and plump skin away from pooled blood. Another option is Lavido Alert Eye Cream ($49) with plant-based hyaluronic acid and natural oils like rosehip. Dr. Engleman recommends dotting products from the inner corner of the eye moving outwards toward the temple with your ring finger, which is weaker than your other fingers, and so will be more gentle on the delicate area.
The only way to ensure 100 percent if the benefits of a particular wrinkle cream are real is to try the product yourself, but a good way to learn more about the various benefits your chosen skin cream promises is to read user reviews. User reviews are easy to find online, and they list the pros, cons, and results of each product, allowing you to make a more informed decision.
In a previous Health interview, dermatologist Jessica Krant MD, recommended this product for those looking to start using a retinol product, explaining that "the ingredients are of good quality and I have never had anyone complain about any skin reaction or difficulty managing this retinol." It packs hyaluronic acid to boost moisture while also erasing fine lines.
Maybe it is just me, but I pay $15 dollars a month as a treat for myself and am never really disappointed in the allure box. I figure I always get to try something that I may not have been otherwise willing to try (for the cost). I realized a while back, when I did start to get disappointed, that I was usually just feeding off of negative comments. Sure some things don’t work for me, others I have found to be a holy grail. I give away some as gifts but I usually always feel as though I get my money’s worth.

I am a fan of this subsciption box, I am pleasantly surprised by this little box when it arrives. It is a good price for the amount & quality of products. I subtracted a star because it would be perfect if you could set the color scheme of the products. When something arrives in a color I can’t wear, I’m stuck with it. So far one lip color I’ve received is not good on me, but I will give to a friend. Many products are either skin care/hair care/nail care, so color is a non issue & that’s great. Most of the colored items have been good, but, not all. I do love opening the box to see what kind of treasure it holds. I also love the little piece of literature that explains each product. Overall it’s a fun, sweet little treat I’ve given myself & always a high point when I find it waiting in my mailbox.
