I subscribed to the Beauty Box and got charged for it right away, however, it took about 3 weeks to get the actual box, in the meantime they had already charged me for the next month's box, which confused me so I emailed them to ask why the extra charge and got no response, emailed again and again no response, so I finally called them to which they told me that it was the following month's charge. How can they charge you for the next month and still not send the previous month's box? By the way, as I am writing this, I still haven't received the next box, they charged me for it on 1/7 and today is 1/28, and I was told that i was going to have to wait another 7-10 days for me to receive it, something about a product missing, so almost a month after I paid for it, still haven't got it. So after reading a lot of bad reviews about customer service and how it was difficult to cancel your membership, I decided to just that, I had to call them again because they make it very difficult for you to cancel, you can't just do it from your account online like all other boxes, you have to call them and wait on the phone for a long time and when you tell them you want to cancel, they offer you 4 boxes at 12 dollars per box. That was kind of weird to me, but even at $12 it's not worth the headache. Going back to Boxycharm, that is one of the best boxes out there.
Retinol, more commonly known as vitamin A, is perhaps the preeminent ingredient for decreasing the depth of lines and wrinkles on the surface of the skin. Dr. Brandt Glow Revitalizing Retinol Eye Cream is a top anti-wrinkle eye cream, as it is formulated with time-released retinol. This helps reduce the chance of redness, peeling and irritation in the delicate eye area by delivering a tolerable yet effective dose.

"If your skin has lost it's freshness and your expression lines are starting to appear more obvious, try this. The vitamin A in this cream will help with cell turnover making your skin appear smooth, soft and fresh. Hyaluronic acid will give your skin instant and long-lasting hydration. Just remember to use an SPF during the day when using any creams, serums and lotions with vitamin A” said Cinthia Lomeli, whose celebrity clients include Sean Diddy Combs, French Montana, Cassie Ventura, Yael Grobglas and Diana Madison.

Using this method, you can work out that higher SPF ratings don’t actually give you much more protection than medium SPF ratings. The Skin Cancer Foundation reports that SPF 15 blocks 93% of UVB rays, SPF 30 blocks 97% and SPF 50 blocks 98%. While these differences seem insignificant, they can still make a great difference over time, especially if you have fair skin or a history of cancer.

Dr. Wee also recommends SkinCeuticals A.G.E. Eye Complex. The product contains anti-glycation ingredients to help protect the skin around the eye and reduce the appearance of under eye bags and wrinkles. “It also contains optical diffusers, anti-aging flavonoids and peptides, proxylane, and hydrating emollients to improve the appearance of under eye skin,” explains Dr. Wee.
HORRRRIBLEEE!!! I recieved by box with the nail polish already shattered and damaging every single product in the box so I emailed TWICE asking nicely for a replacement or for a refund and I got no reply so when I finally called after 6 days of no response the woman on the phone didn't so much as even fake apologize she just said "okay you're cancelled" and that was all. Rude and I'll be telling everyone I know. I also referred a bunch of people who signed up and then after this I got them all to cancel and will be telling everyone I can to not waste their money/time. Simple customer service skills could have gone a long way. Damaged items are an easy fix but the people they have replying to emails and phone calls are the real damaged items.
The term "beauty sleep" gets thrown around all the time, but, turns out, it's a very real thing. While you sleep, your skin kicks into high gear, undergoing a long list of natural processes to help it repair and regenerate. Plus, "while you sleep, cortisol is at its lowest and anti-inflammatory molecules like beta endorphins and growth hormones are at their highest, so that's when skin heals," says Amy Wechsler, M.D., a psych-derm in New York City. As a reminder, low levels of cortisol (the stress hormone) are a very good thing for your skin, since the hormone does everything from increase inflammation to up the likelihood of breakouts. So pull a few all-nighters or super-early mornings in a row, and you'll quickly see this lack of sleep show up on your face.
This cream, which contains 100 percent pure green tea ferment extracts, is designed to retain moisture and keep your skin plump and hydrated. Anti-bacterial lemon seed oil and soothing rosewood oil are also a part of this blend and leave your face with a luxurious, velvety finish. You’ll appreciate how moisturized your skin will feel after applying the cream, since it’s not too sticky or heavy.

Who says you have to give in to aging? There are some parts you can’t control, sure. There’s no magic cream that makes arthritis go away or a special serum to bring back the speedy metabolism you had in your 20s. And, although we hate to admit it, wrinkles are just a part of aging. Luckily, though, it’s a part we can have a dramatic impact on through better skincare. So even if you still feel your age, you don’t need to look it.
If you want glowing, ageless, JLo skin—but aren't ready to incorporate skin-rejuvenating lasers into the mix—follow these two very important skincare rules: 1) Wear SPF religiously—seriously, it's the best way to keep your skin looking young and healthy, and 2) Invest in an anti-aging cream and use it on the reg. These seven formulas are top-performers—you're welcome.
AHAs save the day by dissolving lipids, the adhesive that clings to old cells. This exfoliation process allows old cells to be sloughed away and alerts our bodies to make new cells as a replacement, resulting in fresher, younger-looking skin. There are many types of AHAs in nature, but glycolic acid and lactic acid have the ability to penetrate skin, so those are the two we targeted to find the best anti-aging cream.
The hero ingredient in this formula is caffeine, which is arguably the most powerful player in the eye-cream game. "Caffeine works to constrict your blood vessels under the skin, which means less fluid builds up and settles around your eyes," Dr. Nazarian explains. Think of this all-natural cream as a cup of coffee for your skin—pat the formula (which also contains vitamins C and E) underneath your eyes and watch it work to make you look (and feel!) like you're awake, while brightening and de-puffing on the fly.
I have never had such an issue so early on with like… any company. Not like this. Toward the end of my emails I just told them to please cancel my subscription I don’t care about January. God knows what’s going to happen now. I kind of would like the Jan. box because I want to try Sunday Riley, but the amount of issues going on over there I’m thinking it’s best to just end things now.
I don’t think Sunday Riley does much of anything either. Used that C cream, lactic serum, luna oil. It does nothing. I usually use much more clinical brands or spa brands that actually work, so that may be why (Skin Medica/Glymed/Revision, etc). Anything department store brand, or drugstore brand has much lower %s of active ingredient and takes much longer to show any result.
Like our top pick, Dr. Dennis, The Ordinary is applied with a dropper. Our testers preferred Dr. Dennis’ angled tip over The Ordinary’s straight one, which they found trickier to control, but it was still a huge step up from dipping a finger into a jar. It’s an emulsion, which is similar to a serum, with a consistency that put us in mind of liquified lotion.
As you can see, my under-eye bags and darknesses (“Hello darkness my old friend….”) haven’t completely disappeared. Instead of obsessing over getting them perfect, I’m going to embrace this quirk. If every weirdness was wiped out of one’s face, one would look so robotic and character-less, right? I’m okay with my under-eyes giving me some personality–as long as they don’t rise up in mutiny again, haha.
Puffy, swollen and often discoloured, under eye bags are caused by fluid or fat accumulating below the eyes. While fat accumulation is a natural part of ageing, fluid build up can be a response triggered by many causes. Lack of sleep is a common cause for puffy eyes, while dehydration can create sagging in the delicate under-eye area. Seasonal allergies also cause fluid accumulation in the under-eye area, as does a diet high in sodium. By identifying the cause of your under eye bags, you may be able to prevent them better and aid in their treatment.
While there is an element of genetics and luck associated with how your skin ages, a great deal influence on it is our lifestyle. Smoking, sunburn, drinking and having a poor diet can all greatly affect the resilience of our skin, meaning it is far more likely to age prematurely. So in addition to promoting your skin’s natural collagen productions through applying pro-collagen creams, here are some other ways you can help your skin stay resilient, healthy and youthful.
Water, Cetearyl Alcohol, Caprylic/Capric Triglycerides, Glycerin, Ceteareth-20, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea) Butter, Butylene Glycol, Palmitoyl Oligopeptide, Palmitoyl Tetrapeptide-7, PEG-16, Macadamia Glycerides, Octyldodecanol, Ethyhexyl Palmitate, Zea Mays (Corn) Oil, Tocopheryl Acetate, Cholecalciferol, Retinyl Palmitate (Retinol, Vitamin A), Ascorbic Acid (Vitamin C), Pyridoxine HCl(Vitamin B6), Silica, Sodium Propoxyhydroxypropyl Thiosulfate Silica, Carbomer, Polysorbate 20, Dimethicone, Xanthan Gum, Phenoxyethanol, Caprylyl Glycol, Potassium Sorbate, Hexylene Glycol.
We found the formula pleasantly lightweight when we tested it. It only took us about four drops to cover our entire faces, and the serum absorbs within a couple of minutes. Its scent is fairly light — you might have to focus to catch it, as opposed to Dermatologica’s knock-your-socks-off approach — and has herbal and medicinal tones that none of our testers objected to.
I got offered $10 for 4 months after saying that I wanted to cancel. I signed up in November and I’ve had to email them every single month to get my box. I told them to give me the January box that I’ve paid for and I want to cancel. I got a bunch of emails that also said, “oops” etc. I use to sub with them and never had a problem. I quit because, the box started to look like SephoraPlay/Ipsy. A bunch of little samples. I’m thinking about what to do next. I’m going to comb through my bank statement because, I have a suspicion that I’ve been multiple charged by them. Thanks for listening.
Now, I know there’s nothing productive about sitting around complaining about “flaws” that aren’t actually flaws. We are aware of the way we’ve internalized idealized standards of beauty—and that articles about how to “fix” them can reinforce those standards. (The irony is not lost on me as I write this very article.) And yet there we were, comparing notes about our particular eye concerns, wondering what was causing them and what we could do about them, when suddenly we realized: We don’t actually know what we’re talking about. One person said she had “puffy eyes.” Another rued the “bags” under hers. We thought we were all talking about the same thing, but maybe we weren’t. We started to wonder: What are puffy eyes versus bags versus dark circles, anyway? And which ones were we actually complaining about?
Staying hydrated is one key if you're wondering how to get rid of bags under your eyes. When the body is dehydrated, it responds by retaining as much water as it can, thus causing puffiness and under-eye bags. One way to avoid the bags altogether is by staying hydrated. To ensure you're properly hydrated, stick to the 8 by 8 rule: Drink eight ounces of water eight times a day. That adds up to a half gallon, which is the recommended amount of water to consume daily.
Eye cream doesn't have to be costly to be effecting—take this RoC cream for example: It's not only super affordable at $23, it's made, tested, and approved for those with sensitive skin, so it won't irritate it, it also helps boost cell turnover for more youthful-looking eye skin thanks to the retinol it contains. Aside from that, it has hyaluronic acid in it to plump the thin skin around your eyes, naturally ironing out any fine lines. Bonus: Dr. Nazarian recommends this drugstore treatment to her patients, so you know it's good. Smooth a dab of the powerful formula under your eyes in the evening, and make sure to follow up with an SPF in the morning, since retinol can make you more prone to sunburns.
Depending on what's causing bags under the eyes, eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty) may be a treatment option. During blepharoplasty (BLEF-uh-roe-plas-tee), the surgeon removes excess fat through an incision in the natural crease of the upper eyelid or inside the lower lid. He or she then rejoins the skin with tiny dissolving stitches. The procedure is usually done as an outpatient procedure.
I bought the Brickell Anti Aging Cream after receiving a free sample kit. At 47 years old I’ve never thought of taking care of my skin until I looked in the mirror one morning and saw deep furrow wrinkles running across my forehead. Where did they come from? They made me look so damn old!!! I tried Brickell Anti Aging cream and the results were immediate. It tightened and evened my skin almost instantly. It greatly reduced those deep sun weathered wrinkles I noticed on my forehead. After one week the wrinkles were almost completely gone. I don’t feel or look like anywhere close to a guy closing in on 50. If you’re going to take care of your body and overall appearance why neglect your skin? Following the Brickell regimement has made a huge difference.

Yes, I know it can take up to 20 days for the first box. People who have signed up after the date that I did are receiving boxes, so to say I’m frustrated is an understatement. I would be more patient if they at least emailed me an update or even an email saying hello but its been crickets since the day I signed up. I guess I just signed up at a bad time LOL.
Designed to be applied at bedtime, the Meaningful Beauty Beyond repairing cream is an excellent complement to your current skincare routine. Whether you’re trying to stave off fine lines in your 20’s or tackling decades-old wrinkles well into your 70’s, incorporating a great night cream like this one into your daily routine is a small favor your skin will surely thank you for later!
There are different kinds of retinoids, and they vary in strength. As cosmetic chemist Kevin Gallagher explained, this strength comes with a trade-off: the stronger the retinoid, the faster it works — and the harsher it is on skin. The strongest retinoids are only available with a prescription. But that’s not to say over-the-counter formulations are ineffective. A three-month, double-blind, randomized study of 34 women showed there was no significant difference in efficacy between an over-the-counter 1.1 percent retinol cream and 0.025 percent prescription tretinoin. In short: Retinoids work.
What causes them? The main causes for dark circles are genetics and skin tone, Kenneth Howe, M.D., a board-certified dermatologist at Wexler Dermatology, tells SELF. The under-eye area can look purple or bluish because the skin there is so thin and translucent that you can easily see the underlying veins. It can be more apparent in people with fair skin, and those with very little subcutaneous fat supporting the area under the lower lid. Lack of sleep increases venous congestion; fluid build-up leads to pooled blood in those superficial blood vessels, making dark circles look even darker when you’re tired.
According to the Mayo Clinic, under-eye bags are a common issue that many people experience as they age. Since the skin around your eyes is generally thinner than the rest of your skin, it’s more prone to showing signs of aging like under-eye bags, sagging skin, and dark circles. What’s more, the tissues and muscles around your eyes tend to weaken as you age, meaning the delicate skin in that area can become more susceptible to visible wrinkling and sagging. And that’s not all! As you age, the fat around your eyes, which supports the area, can start to sink, which can also contribute to under-eye bags.
Not only is the NuFACE Collagen Booster Copper Complex great for regenerating your skin’s thickness and density, but it can also even reduce the appearance of large pores and give you a more even look! If you have large pores yourself, then you know just how big of a headache those enlarged crevices can be when it comes to makeup application. No matter how hard you may try or what primer you use, your ginormous pores always seem to be the star of the show!
Use gentle strokes on the eye area. I like to use light pressure and plenty of serum/cream. Use light, shimmering tapping (imagine doing jazz fingers). Be sure to press the serum into the skin instead of just pushing it around. Finish up by drawing a horizontal figure 8 (or the infinity symbol!) around the boundaries of your eye area–this is good for lymphatic drainage.
Yes, the fountain of youth is one myth that many of us wish we could prove true, but the reality is that we cannot turn back the clock. "With the aging process, the ligaments underneath your eyes that hold back fatty tissue begin to weaken, and the tissue can fall forward to form under eye bags," comments Ryan Nakamura, O.D., a VSP network doctor at Natomas Optometry in Sacramento, CA.

I saw it advertised online and thought it would be a great way to try new beauty products without spending a lot of money on them first. I also was attracted to the ad showing some high-end cosmetics, like NARS. I liked the fact the box would contain some beauty products I'd never heard of, especially skin care products. I also liked the beauty tools that were included. However, I received a lot of products that I wouldn't use or colors outside of my palette. I would prefer it to be more customized, and I wish it had an option to be sent every other month as opposed to every month.

I've been using the cream for about a year, and have really liked it. Honestly, I had real doubts about whether any of this stuff really worked, and let's face it: nothing really holds back time. But I have to admit: I think it has helped reduce some of the lines on my forehead, and on the rest of my face it's left my skin feeling really healthy and smooth. I've been using it as part of a routine with the night serum (which I also really like), and have been using the day serum/face moisturizer in the morning as well (the day serum may be the best of all of their products). When you put it all together, I think it's been worth the money (and I originally thought that $40 for a 2oz jar was INSANE: but what I didn't realize is that a 2oz jar lasts 4-6 months (or more), so really, the cost isn't a big deal. I just don't think men realize how to use this stuff: it's really a tiny amount each day).

"Caffeinated tea, which contains natural tannins, is a mild diuretic and long used by grandmothers and runway models for reducing eye puffiness. Soak two tea bags in warm water, then chill the bags for a few minutes in the refrigerator. Place one tea bag on each eye for five minutes, and your eyes will feel fresh and look brighter," says Karen Hammerman, a dermatologist in New York City.
I’m happy to see that there are several of you that are loving the spoilers for January. Now I loved the December box but I’m definitely not feeling the January or the February box lol. I’m not complaining because I know come March I may love the box. It’s a subscription box you can’t make everyone happy 100% of the time and you know what I accept that and I am ok with that. I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday and best wishes for a happy and healthy New Year!
Use hydrating and brightening eye cream. I was using one by Mychelle before I switched to Bella Aura Eye Cream, and this one really works for me. The thing with eye cream is that if it doesn’t show improvement, you use it infrequently–and thus diminishing what returns you may have had. Look for Vitamin C which is a precursor to collagen *and* has brightening powers. I use a powerful antioxidant serum like Bella Aura Antioxidant Booster or Earthwise Beauty Nap in the Meadow Serum right up until the lower lash line, and *then* layer an eye cream on top.
I use my dermaroller once a month. Some people recommend using it more often (or less often, if you’re using bigger needles), but I like this frequency—it’s enough for maintenance without feeling too harsh on my skin. Sometimes, if it’s been a particularly stressful month or if I’ve been traveling, I’ll see those familiar shadows start to creep up again toward the end, but it’s nothing my go-to cream concealer and upping my water intake can’t help. (And that is a sentence I could have only dreamed of uttering so airily just a year ago.)
To get the most out of your Elemis Pro-Collagen Marine Cream, you will want to first gently cleanse your skin and apply the Elemis Pro-Collagen Quartz Lift Serum. We recommend you cleanse your skin using the Elemis Pro-Radiance Cream Cleanser, which you can get here from Amazon, which is designed to be used for anti-aging. After you have applied the serum, you can gently massage the marine cream in.
Vitamin C (ascorbic acid) is another solution for those wondering how to get rid of dark circles and how to get rid of bags under eyes. Eating food rich in vitamin C is helps your body produce collagen. Collagen is a protein your body produces, and one of its top qualities is that it keeps your skin—included the delicate skin under your eyes—healthy, hydrated and dark circle-free. Here are some foods that are rich in collagen-boosting vitamin C:

Talked to Allure 3 times and got 3 somewhat different stories. I did get a shipping email but that is only Allure letting USPS that they should be on the lookout for the package. USPS is still waiting on my box. At this point, I am going to be asking for a refund for this month. I love the box but after over 2 years of of being a loyal customer, I feel they could be and should be doing better in customer service and well, everything! Email customer service?! Lol! Lol! Lol! Nope! I think I’ve only ever gotten 1 response in 2 years and not one email returned this month. Their phone CS and email CS are not integrated, 2 separate things going on there. Eh? That does not make any sense in this day and age. Even their website is beyond outdated. There’s not much info for subscribers and their accounts. The whole variation thing too. I don’t even want those tiny worthless beauty blenders. I told CS that it seems they’ve taken care of the newer customers and left the loyals hanging. “Pretty much…..” I actually told them that if I get those beauty blenders, I’m putting them back in the box and putting ‘return to sender ‘ on it. She said not to do that because it would cost regular rates for them. Well, then maybe then the ‘editor ‘ will get the message. The original content spoilers released by Allure are what I expect. 😳 I love the products and sizes I get from this sub so please don’t tell me I should cancel. No, Allure needs to get it together.
"First of all... What sort of magic is in this container? I have been using the Olay Regenerist night cream for about a year, and I just decided to try this product out. In one week wrinkles are clearing up. Especially in the area of my forehead. I live in a country that is very hot and humid and pores can get clogged easily. This works perfectly. " —De Bajan Girl
Amazon had some sort of sale so I signed for a few subscriptions to see if anything was worth it. After the first month, the only one I kept was Allure. I'm a serious skincare person and a terrible make-up person but the box had a nice blend of both -- enough make-up for me to play with and some good skincare stuff/brands I hadn't seen. The second month I got an envelope in the mail and it's a single Kat Von D lipliner -- I'm not a fan of her make-up line and thought 'yep, this is it, subscription boxes suck' and canceled. Tonight, I got home and there's a proper box with some great make-up and two different face oils to try (and seriously, no joke, I was googling face oils today). So I signed back up and am now writing this review.
